Minister Nicole Tate-Phillips is an Associate Minister at the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller, Senior Pastor.  Minister Nicole is the daughter of Charles and Pamela (Carr) Tate, the granddaughter of the late Henry and Lou Tate (Morristown), and the late Reverend Stone and Gloria Carr (Alcoa).  Upon her family’s relocation from Morristown, Minister Nicole spent her primary years in Lakeland, Florida. She is a graduate of Spelman College (Atlanta, Georgia) and Northeastern University School of Law (Boston, Massachusetts).

Minister Nicole gave her life to the Lord at the age of nine years old and she has spent her life serving in ministry, primarily in music and dance. In July 2014, she gave her initial sermon and was licensed to preach the gospel.  In her ministerial role, Minister Nicole conducts Bible studies for youth and adults and has served as a teacher/facilitator of retreats for women and youth. She also serves as Worship Leader on the Praise & Worship Ministry.

On January 3, 2022, Minister Nicole was sworn in as a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (a suburb of Philadelphia).  She is the second African American female judge in the history of that Court. Prior to taking the bench, Minister Nicole spent 20 years as an attorney; as an Assistant District Attorney, an Assistant United States Attorney, and as a Partner at a law firm in Philadelphia. 

Minister Nicole’s community involvement includes serving as a Board Member of Youth Action – Philadelphia, Board Member of Philadelphia VIP, and a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Pennsylvania Chapter. She has also served as a volunteer with Philadelphia Reads and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. During her time as an Assistant United States Attorney, Minister Nicole was involved in the federal Supervision to Aid Reentry Court Program, which provides support and resources to participants reintegrating into society after incarceration.

She is the proud mother of two sons, David (high school junior), Jordan (Morehouse College), and two adult bonus daughters, Ciara and Latoya.
