God Wants You
1 Corinthians 12:18 (NIV)
Have you spent your life trying to figure out what God wants from you? What work does he have for you to do within the body of Christ? Perhaps you’re hesitant about getting involved with your local church and have allowed the enemy to sow lies into your mind so that you don’t have a desire to serve the Lord in any capacity. God stands ready for you to seek him for deliverance and freedom from yourself.
Believe me I know what it is to feel flawed, so I have from time to time retreated from doing anything for fear that what I have to offer won’t bless the Lord or others. The world just might confirm my worst fears if I’m not careful! Oh, you know that feeling too, and you’re not alone. Just as I did, you must rebuke the tendency for leaning into negativity and redirect your energies into coming out of that pit you’ve dug yourself into.
Be empowered by the word and the Holy Spirit and get intimately acquainted with what God says about YOU! He didn’t create you in vain to do absolutely nothing for his Kingdom. As a Christian, you must act in faith or it will be impossible to please God. Perhaps it appears to you that others have been favored by God, but when you look at yourself in comparison, you fail miserably by your own standards and conclude that God doesn’t value you enough to give you gifts and talents that you observe in others. Banish that notion, because it just isn’t true according to 1 Corinthians 12:18.
A perfect God designed you for service. He formed, molded, and shaped you into his image and has equipped you to serve him. If God can create the world, raise the dead, heal the sick, make the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, the mute to speak, and so much more, don’t you know he can perform a work in you despite your shortcomings? Nothing is too hard for God. You DO have gifts to be used for his Kingdom. Don’t let, what he’s placed in you lie dormant any longer. His power in you will be activated once you act in faith to trust his investment in you! Show off your love for Jesus and to the world by serving him as an important member of the body of Christ. Meditate on the things that are true, good, honest, pure, lovely, just, and praiseworthy. (see Philippians 4:8) You serve a healing and transforming God, and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (see Philippians 4:13) Don’t reject being used for his glory in the body of Christ, because there are areas calling YOUR name!
Think on it!
