Why Black Lives Matter
November 2021

The mere mention of Black Lives Matter from the African American community seems to incite anger from others who don’t look like us. This perplexes me because Black Lives Matter symbolizes our efforts to remind others that WE, together with YOU are as much a part of humanity no less and no more so than any other race. Being that we are human and created by the same God, then that qualifies the Black race as valued members of the All Lives Matter mantra.

If we were treated justly there would be no need to unite in one voice and emphasize that WE matter too! Hey, remember us? Obviously not, thus sparking the birth of the Black Lives Matter outcry! Our people are already blatantly aware that All Lives Matter, it’s the refusal to be recognized by those who don’t look like us, who promote the mistreatment of Black people as unequal subpar human beings. Thankfully, we as a people know the truth and that God values us as an integral part of this world.

Despite the disbelief to the contrary, we are all God’s beautiful handiwork. It’s not God’s heart to see races warring against each other. He wants to speak peace to the storm. He seeks to calm us through the chaos. He desires to strengthen us for the fight, and through it all, we must glorify our Creator. This is not a human fight, this is a spiritual fight, for God is not pleased with ugliness no matter what we are dealing with in this life. EPHESIANS 6:12 KJV “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

In this fight, perhaps you have lost relationships as prejudice has reared its ugly head in the hearts of mankind. Satan is always at the root of discord and chaos. He’s the father of lies. It’s the scheme of the enemy to divide and create a world of darkness as people choose to be fueled by their own bigotries and prejudices. For the devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy God’s people, but the good news is that Jesus came to save us, not to condemn us! If you want to embrace the truth, then read God’s word, and let Jesus be your guide. He’s the Way, the Truth, and the Life! In case you haven’t heard, God’s children win the battle in the end. And by the way, there’s only one race y’all, and that’s the human race!

Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

2 Peter 3:9b “…but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
